Our beautiful daughter, Payton - '09 Norman Arthritis Walk Youth Honoree

Our beautiful daugther Payton was born on October 16th, 2004. When she was born, she weighed 6 lbs and has been a true blessing to our family.

At the very young age of two, she started to complain that she felt pain in her tiny hands. We noticed there was redness and swelling in her joints and it was then that we knew something was not right. Several tests were performed to see what could be wrong. It wasn’t until after her third birthday that she the diagnosis was confirmed – Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA). Since her diagnosis, Payton has tried several medications in attempt to relieve the pain and control her JRA. She now receives three injections from home.

With the love and support of her family, Payton is doing well and growing beautifully every day. She will continue to be monitored by Dr. Michael Henrickson, Pediatric Rheumatologist, at OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.
